I haven’t posted in a while. I almost posted several times, though, and those proto-posts are saved in my draft editor. I’ve reread a few, and summed them up in single sentences. Behold what you are “missing” when I don’t post.
“Non corporate entities should be prevented from owning more than five cats.”
“Why the hell are my co-workers throwing metal ninja stars into the wall seperating our offices?”
“Reducing Carbon Emissions by Using the Toilet Before Getting on the Plane: A Study in Fuel Savings”
When I’m sixty, my crackpot letters to the editor are going to be awesome.

The Xbox 360 now plays Divx files. Yay! The 360 is also a DLNA compatible device, letting me feed networked media to the 360 from a DLNA server. Double yay! uShare is a Linux DLNA server that works with the 360. Triple yay, and cookies for everyone!
Unfortunately, I’m having a devil of a time installing uShare from source on my ARM based home server. My current working theory is that I accidentally grabbed a historical fork of the libupnp directory, something much older than the 1.4.2 release I need. Of course, I’ve had twelve working theories in the past half hour. We’ll see if this one sticks.
No Herb, I don’t know why I always choose the way of pain.
[UPDATE - 2:04 AM] It works. The 360 doesn’t support all formats, but it handles a good subset. Yee-haw.
