Life

Don’t get me started on life. A lot has happened since last post.
My extended web outage was caused by a move to a new apartment. The lease had run out on the place I’d been sharing with Spooky, so I grabbed a little place within walking distance of Forest Park, and the local light rail station. It’s ~750 square feet, fairly nice, finally has internet access, and I no longer need to drive to work.
Work has ups and downs. Our big project has reached field trials. The field trials have revealed two things.
One: my quick and dirty CRC is mathematically weak. Seriously. It’s pathetic. Ugh. Back to work on that one.
Two: Our watermarking system works very well on some stations, and poorly on others. We were hoping for it to work on, well, all stations. This changes the timeline somewhat, but we won’t know exactly how until we do a lot more testing.
And, in personal news, I have fallen in with a gang… of improv actors. I’ve somehow become part of a fledgling improvisational theatre troupe. I’m as surprised as you probably are. Our first stage performance will be sometime in September, if all goes well in practice sessions.

New addresses need to be propagated to me or Casey (who only seems to check email every 2 weeks, but is much more reliable with Jabber) if you want a Christmas/Winter card. Or maybe you don’t want one.
I vaguely remember you mentioning actors before. Seems to be interesting for you if you’re still with them.

Edit that last one. I think it was Sheehe that mentioned actors previously. Are his interests rubbing off again?

It might have been Matt that mentioned it first. We share a high-latency hive mind, with a 300 baud connection joining the two nodes. You can probably expect me to take up a martial art at some point in the next two years.
I promise to propagate the address to you as soon as I …. oh. Wordpress is telling me that you’ve entered your email into my little system. How convenient.
